Whenever we see a new artist has been signed to Hybris Records our interest is piqued, and so it was with Ethiopian-Swede Asha Ali. She’s readying the release of her fourth album, Loud and Out of Place, her first since 2009. Words is its second single, where she’s throwing off the shackles of a dishonest relationship to the soundtrack of some soulful pop. Asha has worked with some of Sweden’s top songwriters on her album, including Fredrik Berger, Johannes Berglund and Peter Morén, who amongst them have worked with The Knife, Jennie Abrahamson, and Icona Pop, so our hopes are high. Words follows Stop Talking from May. The album is due in November.
