Good Moose Monthly: November 2014

And so we are now in December and everyone is frantically making end-of-year lists (ours will come just as soon as we find five minutes), but let’s not forget some of the stellar Scandi tunes that were released in November. Catch up with our Good Moose Monthly playlist on either YouTube or Soundcloud. As ever, not everything is available on both, or either, but we’ve gathered together as many as we can for you. And just because we love the artwork, we’ve put Little Jinder up the top of the page. None of the new tracks from her new album are on YouTube or Soundcloud, but you can, and should, listen on Spotify.

Good Moose Monthly: October 2014

So we’ve compiled a handy compendium of the best songs from October.

Firstly a YouTube playlist…

Or on Soundcloud if your prefer…

Of course a few tracks are missing from each, namely the wonderful Kill J who aren’t on either.

Susanne Sundfør – Fade Away

With a string of high-profile collaborations behind her (Kleerup, M83 and Röyksopp all within the space of a year) as well as her own exquisite records, it feels like this could be Susanne’s moment, and boy is she seizing it with this track, her first from a new album, Ten Love Letters, due February 2015. It’s got big driving beats, a spot of ’80s funk guitar and Susanne’s distinctive vocals singing about “the sound of your heart”. It’s recognisable from her previous work, but this is a bold pop statement surely destined for big things. Our favourite bit is when it pauses and a microwave pings: she is ready to be a star.
